Style Log: Date Night in the City

  If you follow my Twitter account, then you know I’ve been having a great holiday season! I had Brian snap a few quick outfit photos in our hotel room before we headed out. I think he did pretty good considering the extra crappy lighting we were dealing with! Plus, he basically picked out this outfit for me. :) I thought maybe it was too much blue, but meh, I like it anyway.

This top may have been a little chilly for the ice skating and walking around St. Paul. However, I was grateful for the loose fit and stretch pants when we had dinner at Pazzaluna! I loved everything about this restaurant from the vibe to the service to the amazing food! For real, if you ever get to St. Paul please go splurge {it’s pricey, but totally worth it!} and have dinner here. You won’t regret it!

Friday Favorites: Map Love!!

I don’t know if I ever have mentioned what my day job is - I’m a GIS Coordinator. Go ahead google it, you know you want to. I’ll wait.

Alright, the gist of it is map work. Or at least that’s the gist of it for this post! In any case, I’m a total map nerd! So, here is some map love courtesy of pinterest and all those other map nerds. :)

Style Log: Purple, Teal, Black

Wow, my first outfit post since my 30 for 30! I love this outfit for a a few reasons:
A) It’s simple.
B) It’s uber comfortable.
C) I feel cute.
D) I love small splashes of color on a neutral outft. Plus, teal and purple make me smile. :)
E) It’s slimming! Gotta love black!

Health Report: Snacking!

For me, one of the hardest parts about eating healthy is my snacking! I have the bad habit of snacking at work and it’s usually not the healthiest food. A lot of the time I buy those 90 or 100 calorie granola/cereal bars. They aren’t horrible for you and can be a good source of fiber [if you buy the fiber ones], but I get tired of them. Plus, I have a really hard time getting enough veggie and fruit servings in though out the day. Which is not because I don’t like them, I love fruits and veggies! I think I just tend to forget to add them to my meal. Even when I do have some veggies with dinner I’m still not getting enough for my daily serving. In light of this, I think I’m going to try to plan my snacks ahead and include more veggies and fruits!

Here are a few of my ideas!

Fruit Smoothies

I’ve already done this actually! Check out this ladies blog for directions on prepping your own smoothie baggies!

Celery & Peanut Butter

Be sure to use low fat PB!

Broccoli & Baby Carrots with Light Ranch

Really, this could be any veggies with ranch, soooo good!

Apple & Orange Slices

Actually, any fruit by itself us great...bananas, strawberries, grapes, and kiwi! You could also mix in some almonds with the fruit for something a bit different.
